SHERRY DAVIES

Self-insured and state fund employer advice and representation concerning Worker’s Compensation and Industrial Insurance.

Professional Experience:

Ms. Davies was employed by the Attorney General’s Office for eight years and represented the Department of Labor and Industries in settlement negotiations before the Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals. She was a partner at Reinisch, Weier & Mackenzie before she joined Vandeberg Johnson & Gandara in 2007. She was admitted to the Washington State Bar in 2000.

Mr. Dietzler joined Vandeberg Johnson & Gandara in August, 2001, after practicing as trial counsel for Farmers Insurance Group of Companies from 1995 to 2001. Mr. Dietzler was an associate at Davies Pearson, P.C. from 1991 to 1995. Before admission to the Washington State Bar in 1991, Mr. Dietzler served in the United States Air Force.

JAMES C. FOWLER

Mr. Fowler joined Vandeberg Johnson & Gandara in 2002 after spending nine years as a partner at a large Seattle firm. Mr. Fowler has tried both civil and criminal cases in his career and litigated a wide variety of contract, UCC, trademark, trade secret, real estate, regulatory and tort disputes. Although he spends the majority of his time in litigation, Mr. Fowler also counsels clients on dispute prevention, employment and general business matters.

DANIEL GANDARA

Mr. Gandara was formerly a partner with Lane Powell Moss & Miller (now Lane Powell PC) and Graham & Dunn in Seattle. He joined Vandeberg Johnson & Gandara in 1993. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1974 and to the Washington State Bar in 1978. He is also admitted to the Federal Circuit, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and to the Federal District Courts in Washington State and California.

KINNE F. HAWES

After several years in private practice in Seattle with Lane Powell Spears Lubersky, Mr. Hawes served as in-house corporate counsel for 14 years, most recently as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Pay'n Save Drug Stores, Inc. Since January 1993, he has been in private practice in Seattle. He joined Vandeberg Johnson & Gandara in 1994. He was admitted to the Washington State Bar in 1972.

MARK A. HOOD

Professional Experience:

Prior to practicing law, Mr. Hood developed his real estate background working with a major title insurance underwriter. He was admitted to the Washington State Bar in 1990, and joined Vandeberg Johnson & Gandara that same year. Mr. Hood currently serves as Chair of Vandeberg Johnson & Gandara's Real Estate, Land Use and Environmental Practice Group and is a frequent speaker on real estate topics before a variety of professional organizations.

JAMES A. KRUEGER

Mr. Krueger joined a predecessor of Vandeberg Johnson & Gandara in 1972. He was admitted to the Washington State Bar in 1969, to the United States Tax Court in 1972, and to the United States Supreme Court in 1972. He currently serves as chair of Vandeberg Johnson & Gandara's Business Practice Group.

NEAL H. LUNA

Prior to practicing law, Neal was an economic analyst for the Institute for International Economics and later for Barclays Bank in Washington, D.C. He also interned for the Hawaii Supreme Court, performed a corporate form tax analysis for a small Tacoma business, mediated disputes in small claims court, and authored a comment in the Washington School of Law Pacific Rim Law and Policy Journal on Singapore’s e-commerce tax policy.
