Compensation Range:

$70,000 to $90,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

Legal Assistant - Estate Planning and Probate

Summary of Full-Time Position:

Provide legal assistant support to a minimum of two full-time attorneys whose practice areas include estate planning, probates, and trusts.  The position requires that the legal assistant work with minimal supervision and according to established firm policies and procedures to perform a variety of legal assistant and clerical duties for assigned attorneys. 

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Three years law firm experience as an estate planning and probate legal assistant.
  • Ability to utilize forms to draft estate planning documents, pleadings, deeds, correspondence, and other items as requested. 
  • Proofread for content and accuracy.
  • Schedule meetings; time entry; process incoming mail and deliveries; scan and photocopy projects; maintain client files; filing.
  • Maintain attorney calendars and deadline reminder systems.
  • As requested by attorneys, meet with clients to receive and/or assist with the signing of documents; maintain appropriate appearance and demeanor; maintain positive relationships with clients, attorneys, and staff; observe confidentiality of attorney-client relationship and all matters relating to the firm and its attorneys and staff; never offer legal advice.
  • As requested by the Administrator, assist with other legal assistant projects or tasks.  (The Administrator will review your workload before assignment of additional work.)
