Scott Winship joined Vandeberg Johnson and Gandara in 2004, bringing with him experience in corporate finance, mergers, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, employment law, and Employee Stock Ownership Plans. Presently, he represents clients in a variety of matters, focusing on trust and estate administration, litigation, and dispute resolution, estate planning, elder law, and general business matters.
Scott started his law career as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Pierce and King Counties before entering private practice. He later moved into banking, spending more than a dozen years in that industry.
He is a member of the Order of the Barristers, the Washington State Bar Association, and the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association, where he serves on the Guardianship Committee and the Judicial Qualifications Committee.
Beyond the law, Scott has been a member and Chair of the governing boards of United Way of Pierce County, the MultiCare Health Foundation, the Nonprofit Center, and the Municipal League of Tacoma-Pierce County. He has served on the boards of Faith Homes, the Tacoma Trauma Trust, and Tacoma Rotary Club #8. He currently is a board member and Treasurer for the Hilltop Artists in Residence and for the Pierce County Community Development Corporation, and is in his second term as a member of the Tacoma Planning Commission, where he serves as Vice Chair.
